The Museum of Multidimensional Mutant Maps, 2024
An immersive solo exhibition at the Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles, where Edgar Fabián Frías transformed the gallery into a thematic museum of paintings, sculptures, videos, and interactive installations that subvert colonial cartography. Weaving together Indigenous, psychedelic, punk, and futurist influences, the works map haunted pasts, possible presents, and emergent futures to spark imagination and reinvention. Named one of the top 10 shows to see by Hyperallergic.
3 Of Cups (Tatéi Neixa), 2023
Presented as part of the Mexicali Biennial, is a multidimensional installation that honors the Wixárika celebration of Tati Neixa, a harvest ceremony of gratitude and communal abundance, while drawing unexpected connections to the citrus and cement industries that shaped Southern California's colonial landscape. The work holds these two worlds in tension, illuminating how Indigenous rituals of reciprocity with the land persist alongside and resist the extractive economies built upon it.
